One of my friends has passed the following certification exams -
1) 1Z0-147 – Program with PL/SQL exam first and
2) 1Z0-051 – Oracle Database 11g: SQL Fundamentals I exam next.
Looking at the certification path for Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional, I see that he can either write 1Z0-146 – Oracle 11g Advanced PL/SQL OR the beta 1Z1-144 exam Oracle Database 11g: Program with PL/SQL.Is he correct in this assumption or allowed only to take 1Z0-146 to get the Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional ?
The certification path diagrams look clear enough. But he is a bit confused with the plus signs in one path diagram versus the forward arrows in another diagram, if that makes any sense at all.
He also read elsewhere that the order in which take the exams (or the hands-on course, if any) does not matter, so he decided he would ask the forum.
Beta testing has just begun for the new “Oracle Database 11g: Program with PL/SQL” (1Z1-144) certification beta exam. This test is offered as an alternative option to taking existing exam 1Z0-147 (Program with PL/SQL) for both the Oracle PL/SQL Developer Certified Associate (OCA) and Oracle Advanced PL/SQL Developer Certified Professional (OCP) certification tracks.
